6 Quick Tips To Help You Choose The Perfect Plus Size Wedding Dress

Here are 6 Quick Tips to help you choose the perfect “plus size wedding dress”. So let’s get to them!

1) Choose a style that lengthens your image. For example, if you have a short neck, do not select a gown with a high neck or a dress that has a lot of poofy paraphernalia at the neck. If you go against this – you will notice that in your photos your neck will appear shorter … like your head is perched on your shoulders. (Sorry if I’m direct, but this is something you need to know … especially when you’re wanting your wedding photos to be picture perfect)

2) Have you done this before? Chosen a fabric that you hate … just to please someone else? Don’t! Wear a fabric that feels fantastic to you and makes you feel wonderfully special!

3) I know I made this mistake with a dress once … (hope I’m not alone). I chose a satin that looked wonderful … but after a about 20 minutes in the sun I felt like I was in the sauna. So what’s the tip? Satin is fine … for winter weddings, for indoor celebrations where it’s kept on the cool side with air conditioning.

4) Boat neck styles … are flattering on only a few women I know of. But my perception may be different from your own. Boat neck style dresses tend to widen your appearance at the shoulders … which is OK, if you’re trying to compensate for being overly wider at the beam.

5) OK, how many of us have heavy legs? Some of us have great legs and it’s wonderful when you can show them off. But if you don’t fall into the category of legs that are super sexy, you can draw attention away from them in 2 ways and emphasize your best features instead. What are those two ways:
a) wear a long flowing gown that will emphasize your height, or your bosom, your long neck, …
b) select a wedding dress (long or short) that has a provocative rise, gather or slit in the skirt that gives you just
the barest hint of skin and leg.

And last, but definitely not least is Tip #6.

6) Be vibrantly alive! Choose a color that not only fits the occasion and theme of your wedding, but choose a color that makes you not only makes you feel fabulous … but it looks fantastic on you too!

I spent yesterday updating the new styles of wedding gowns for plus size brides as well as the lingerie pages and the romantic gowns section.

and Here for Lingerie

I also finished construction on the invitations section and did a whole new section for “the groom” in the wedding planner itself. Please bear in mind it might take a full 48 hours to auto-populate and enable you to view all the exciting new changes.

In the middle of doing all this my internet service decided it was going on vacation. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.

Happily today it’s up and running again so I was able to re-load all the new pages, and the whole new Wedding Planner. If you’ve signed on for your free wedding planner, no worries you don’t have to sign up again. Just use the link you were given and it will upload no problem, with the new section inside.

There have been a lot of changes and a lot of items added, hope you enjoy and please … send me your feedback of what you like, or what you don’t …

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Ange

Cool Blue Plus Size Wedding Dresses

Blue wedding dresses in plus size or no have become stunningly popular these days and run the whole range of the blue color spectrum.

Simpson Wallace first made the pale blue wedding dress a cool and elegant choice in 1937 when she married the Duke of Windsor.

From tea length to mermaid, to ballroom gown styles, choosing your blue plus size wedding dress is only as limited as your imagination. Can’t find the style you simply adore in a lovely shade of blue? Ask for it of course!

Want just the teeniest hint of blue? Just because you want a little color doesn’t mean your whole dress must be. You can chose to accentuate a traditional white gown with blue Swarovski crystals, or a blue ribbon, embroidery, … rosettes …you get the idea.

Still no sure, but have a little creative sewing skill? Creating your own wedding dress is a daunting task not for the faint of heart.

My sister took on this gargantuan task and managed to create a gorgeous ballroom style gown in raw silk with loads of Italian lace. She did a simply awesome job. The cost of the fabric and lace were over $3,500 alone. And it did take her about a year to complete – but the results were simply spectacular.

I’m not suggesting you take this route. You’ll need a stout personality and the time to do it, not to mention the skill – and you’ll most likely have enough on your plate just planning your wedding and seeing to all the details!

As you look for your wedding dress, you may decide that choosing a fabric with just the palest hint of blue offset by sharp white lace is just the ticket to be a crisp and chic show stopper.

So take your time. Browse. Plan your theme and then your dress. First decide on the style you adore, then the fabrics, and then the colors and finally your accessories.

Happy hunting!
