Weight Loss? For The Luv Of Pete!

For the luv of Pete I know there are many of us struggling with weight loss or perhaps more accurately weight gain, and with those extra pounds often complications of diabetes or heart disease aren’t far behind. Age in this case doesn’t discriminate (in case you’re wondering).

Obesity runs in my mom’s mothers side of the family along with diabetes. My dad’s side is blessed with most everyone having lived well past 95. But in the last 18 months I’ve packed on an incredible 30 pounds. Not good when you’re under 5’5″.

I’ve tried starving myself even more (and I don’t eat much to begin with – my work schedule is hectic and I often skipped most meals). Unfortunately this only made matters worse. And I should have known better anyway since I used to own and run a health food store for several years.

Then I tried a couple of fad diets with foods I detested such as tofu (sorry tofu lovers … I just can’t get used to it). Guess you know how that went. So then I decided to try to be happy the way I had become … and I grew to hate even looking in my mirror or my closet at all my clothes I could no longer fit.

That effort didn’t last long either. Genetics began to give me a wee bit of grief and I realized I don’t have the luxury of getting in touch with my inner self to brow beat it into submission and believe everything is OK and that I’m happy this way. I’m not.

So, before Christmas I decided I would not celebrate with all the Christmas goodies and instead I’d increase my intake of Omega 3 oils – you know the ones that science says is what helps with the “right” cholesterol and reduces inflammation. The second reason I increased my intake of these oils was because some yahoo claimed they lost 7 pounds in 7 days because of it.

So, figuring to capitalize on a good thing and make it even better, I took out a year’s membership at my local gym. So, burping up fish from those *@**&X!! omega 3 capsules and rigorously walking 3.5 to 4 miles in an hour per day 5 days a week since the week before Christmas I thought for sure I would lose some weight. You guessed it – NOT ONE SINGLE POUND!

OK, so maybe I got healthier but no change otherwise. Ditto for protein only shakes including whey. But then again maybe I didn’t give them a long enough time to produce results. The science certainly appears to be on their side. Especially for the whey protein being able to help you build more muscle and give more energy. But I want tangible, measurable weight loss results now, not six months or one year from now.

The energy part of the whey protein shakes I definitely felt. I had more of a sense of well being, more energy during the day, I sleep better and wake up with less aches and pains (virtually none).

That gave me enough energy to hit the gym harder. I now go to the gym twice a day. Once for a four mile hike in an hour and the second for a 3 mile stint. But heck – there is no way I want to be hiking 7 miles a day 40 years from now when I’m 80!

I would definitely love to live well over 100 to get back at the government for their taxation policies. So to see if I can get this fat to burn off and hopefully increase my lifespan into the centenarian age – I thought I’d put another product to the test after I read all the literature I could find on it. It’s from my local pharmacy, called Akavar 20/50.

I started 3 days ago on this Akavar stuff. Some of it’s ingredients I’ve taken singly before. But together they pack a powerful punch. It says take 2 capsules before each meal and no more than 4 capsules in any 8 hour period. Believe it! I took 2 before lunch the first day and 2 before supper … and I did not sleep the whole night no matter what I tried. So the second day I took 1 before lunch and 1 before supper. I must be super sensitive because I didn’t sleep last night either.

Today the gym is closed and I’ve decided to only take 1 capsule before my largest meal which for me is lunch. Yes I feel energized, but not so wired as before. Another thing I noticed is that where I tend to pack on the fat is where my skin is now warmest whereas before those areas were always cold and I always felt like I was freezing. Not now. And I’m down 3.5 pounds. Eureka!

Again this is stuff I bought off the pharmacy shelf … it apparently has a lot of science behind it, clinical trials and all the hard core things doctors love. Besides the Europeans swear by it. I’ll let you know my progress as I go along so you can see for yourself.

No, I don’t get any commissions, freebies or fees by telling you my experience with it and telling you like it is. But if it helps me, perhaps it might be something you might want to try. If you have heart trouble, high blood pressure or diabetes best advice is to not take it – or at the very least see your doctor about it first.

The name of it again is: Akavar 20/50 and it’s available in most local pharmacies.

Cheers,
Ange

PS – Bear in mind I’m also going to the gym 6 days a week, and still taking those omega 3′s and the protein shake once a day … just in case the synergistic effect is better. One way or the other this fat is coming off!
