Grooms Wedding Tips And Wedding Speeches

What’s that you say – Wedding tips for him?!  For most of us gals it’s really easy to try and take over the wedding planning process. We tend to unconsciously take over and do this sort of thing ourselves.

No wonder you feel overwhelmed. But by taking on the whole kit and kaboodle yourself you run the risk of alienating the other most important person in this event – your groom.

After all – it’s his wedding too! Let him plan a whole area or segment of your wedding that he can administer and plan. Working together you’ll both make your big day your own.

Generally speaking, the groom and his family plan the reception that is normally held after the rehearsal and the bride’s family plans and takes care of the reception and events the day of the wedding.

The rehearsal reception is an excellent way for everyone to get to know each other and share in the special traditions of his family and is a great way to share favorite recipes. Hint: his mom will likely hand over recipes of his favorite foods so he won’t go hungry with his new family (namely you) :-)

But by far the task I’m certain your man will enjoy the most is planning your honeymoon. So let him get creative, and surprise you. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt if you have a pleasant surprise planned during your honeymoon as well.

A wonderful example of a thoughtful way to say I love you and welcome you occurred at a family wedding. This beautiful, touching and totally unexpected aspect of my sister’s wedding was after the exchange of vows and rings, her new husband took his family tarter and encircled her with it. Together they pinned it on and well, the rest is history. They’re still married 16 years later. Must have done something right ’cause they’re still inseparable.

So take it for what it’s worth. If you want to build a lasting marital relationship built on love and respect, do plan your wedding together where you can, and delight in surprising each other in unexpected ways.

Cheers,

PS – don’t forget to plan your wedding speeches

Beach Weddings And Cruise Ships

On the bright side beach weddings are a fabulous idea for those looking to escape the ravages of winter.

On the down side, with today’s new luggage regulations at customs and airports, packing a huge wedding dress won’t leave room for much of anything else.

If having your big day planned on a sunny day at the beach or at sundown is on your must have list. Please do yourself a favor and plan this well in advance.

Choose a simple and light gown that packs well, won’t crinkle and will look super fabulous once you’re there!

Note that not everyone on your guest list will be able to attend for various reasons including financial considerations about the trip cost or flight scheduling. And there is always the chance that the weather will not cooperate.

Alternatively, if you want your wedding in the sun, you may opt for a cruise ship wedding. This of course has some cash saving ideas.

One – if you book more than 12 rooms, generally you can get the 12th or 13th at a huge discount and in some cases free. And often the cruise lines will be more than happy to host your special event and you will be able to rely on them for expert help and service.

Two – sometimes an all-inclusive cruise is the best deal … depending on your situation or your guests.

Three – you won’t need to worry about who is going to drive who home and where your guests are … they’ll all be aboard ship.

Four – you can make this a fantastic event to remember and everyone can take part in activities they love.

Five – remember to include all of your guests – so plan at least two events together after the wedding ceremony and the reception. It might be something as simple as enjoying a day at the beach sipping coconut milk, or taking a dip in the ocean … or a hike together … you choices are endless. You can even host a “guest vote” so no one feels left out and the most popular activity is chosen.

Six – remember to take some super photos of your wedding, but also of your group enjoying themselves and send them a photo of themselves having fun as a momento after the cruise.

Cheers,
Ange
